Workshop on Higher Gauge Theory and Higher Quantization
Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh - June 26/27 2014

Welcome to the hompage of the Workshop on Higher Gauge Theory and Higher Quantization.

Higher Gauge Theory is a generalization of ordinary gauge theory describing the parallel transport of extended objects. Higher Quantization deals with a categorified quantization of multisymplectic manifolds. Both areas might provide solutions to important problems in M-theory, such as an explicit formulation of a superconformal six-dimensional tensor field theory as well as the quantization of multisymplectic manifolds.

The aim of this Workshop is to bring together mathematicians, mathematical physicists and string theorists working on Higher Gauge Theory and Higher Quantization to discuss recent progress in this area.
